Chiropractor Whats The Story?
Chiropractic treatment has been available for many years and with the advances of technology and sites like youtube more and more people are viewing such treatments as a possible choice. Here at our clinic Queens Road Sports Injury Clinic based in Nuneaton we have had increased number of people asking information on chiropractor treatment.
So What Do Chiropractor Do?
The discipline of chiropractic care was founded in 1895. As described on the NHS website “Chiropractic is a treatment where a practitioner called a chiropractor uses their hands to help relieve problems with the bones, muscles and joints. It’s considered a type of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), which means it’s not a conventional medical treatment”.
A Chiropractor will use Chiropractic treatment to treat joint dysfunction, pain and injury. Treatments can involve using their hands to apply direct or indirect force to the muscles, bones and joints in and around the spine short, sharp thrusting movements gradually moving your joints into different positions pulling or stretching your muscles in different directions.
Does Treatment Hurt?
Chiropractic treatments known as adjustments in general do not cause pain. However treatment to certain joints in the spine or extremities can cause a little discomfort or an uncomfortable feeling or pressure. Upon the completion of the chiropractor treatment you should not feel pain. In general, patients enjoy being adjusted and like the way that the adjustment feels.
How Long Will It Take?
On average chiropractor treatments take 45 minutes on the initial subjective, objective assessment and your first treatment with follow up treatments lasting around 15 minutes. Frequency of chiropractor treatment depends on the injury the individual has whether the injury is a sports injury or occupational injury and the location and extent of the injury.
